Q.	How much does it cost to play hockey?
A.	Cost is determined by the Division your child is registering into: Initiation 1A, Initiation 2A/2B, Novice, Atom, Peewee, Bantam. See Registration for more information.
Q.	My child has not skated much, can he/she start hockey?
A.	Yes. We do not discourage any child from starting hockey. SWAT Hockey has an evaluation process to properly place any child on a team. For more information see Tiering and Evaluation.
Q.	What are player evaluations?

Q.	When do evaluations start?
A.	Depending on your category the evaluation process will take place in late August to early September. Official dates TBA.
Q.	What equipment do I need and where can I purchase it?

Q.	How old does a player have to be to start hockey?
A.	For the 2010-2011 hockey season any player born in 2006 are welcome to register. See Registration for more details.
Q.	What arenas would we play in?
A.	Initiation 1A Learn to Skate Program is designated to a SW Edmonton arena (TBA). Initiation 2A/2B practices/games are designated to SW Edmonton arenas. Novice, Atom, Peewee & Bantam practices/games are held in arenas city wide.
Q.	How do I locate the addresses of arenas?
A.	Edmonton and area arenas
Q.	What are the expectation of parents?
A.	Swat Hockey requires each family to commit volunteer time. See Volunteer Commitment Form for more information.
Q.	What is the time commitment in a hockey season?
A.	SWAT's hockey season can typically run from late August when the evaluation process begins to the end of March. For more information on the length of the season your child's category see: Initiation 1A, Initiation 2A/2B, Novice, Atom, Peewee, Bantam.
